Treasure Valley United Way, NorthEnd Neighborhood Association, Stoel Rives, and council member Lauren McLean endorse bond campaign to Improve Schools

BOISE, IDAHO – Friends of Boise Schools announce today the Treasure Valley United Way, North End Neighborhood Association, Stoel Rives, and council member Lauren McLean support the Boise School District bond campaign to reinvest in every neighborhood school in Boise without raising the tax rate. The ballot measure goes before voters on March 14, 2017.

“As a business law firm, Stoel Rives appreciates the role of education in attracting and cultivating business innovation in Boise. Strong, safe schools provide an educated and skilled workforce that is good for our local economy, for our clients, and for the families of our employees. Boise public schools rate among the best in the nation. Let’s keep it that way. Vote Yes for Boise Schools on March 14,” said Krista McIntyre, Partner at Stoel Rives LLP.

“Strong schools are central to strong neighborhoods, economic opportunity, and a vibrant city. Our world-class public schools are an example of how we do things right here in Boise. They’re an accountable investment in the future—and one we must make to ensure our children continue to receive a quality education and are ready to compete in today’s global economy. Please join me by voting in favor of the Boise School bond on March 14th,” said Lauren McLean, Boise City Council member and parent.

The Friends of Boise Schools will be hosting a community rally on Saturday, March 11, 2017, from 12:00-12:30 PM at Boise City Hall Plaza, 150 N. Capitol Blvd, Boise, ID 83702. Members of the public are welcome to attend to hear more about the importance of passing the bond and are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Boise school spirit wear.

The bond would put more than $155 million into 22 major capital projects, including building six new schools on their current sites, a new school in the Harris Ranch area, as well as expansion of the District’s Professional-Technical center to offer Electrical, Plumbing and Heating-Air Conditioning job training classes. Every school in the District would also receive additional funding for ongoing maintenance and repairs.
